Coast Modular History
In 1962 Ken Lambert Sr. began working in the field of manufacturing modular buildings, for companies such as Fabco and West Coast Trailers. Then in 1968 he started his own company; the company was called Lambilt Mfg. Ltd. Located just off Braid St. in Sapperton (New Westminster, BC). This is also where Ken Lambert Jr., at the age of 10 began his journey into the manufacturing of modular buildings.
With determination and a natural aggression for perfection and success Lambilt grew fast, unit in 1972 when the company was destroyed by a massive fire throughout the whole industrial complex.
Within a year Ken Sr. had met Jim and Jerry, owners of Astra Manufacturing. Together they formed a joint venture to manufacture modular buildings. Thus allowing Ken Lambert Sr. to continue providing some of the best-built product to this day. Astra was located in Cloverdale, B.C. (The Historic Red Bard Antique Store is the former Astra plant.) Ken Lambert Jr. work the years at Astra.
The manufacturing ended in 1976 when Ken Lambert Sr. saw another opportunity. This was in the relocation and installation of modular camps throughout B.C. and Alberta. The resource industry was thriving. Contracting to companies such as Atco, Travco, National Caterers, Government agencies, etc. We also specialized in modular schools, government offices, etc. Anything modular no matter the size. During this period Ken Lambert Jr. worked
with his father until 1988.
Ken Lambert Sr. continued to work in the modular industry he loved so much until his death in 2000.
While Ken Sr. has passed; his son Ken Lambert Jr. remembers the prior years with his father and has taken all that his father taught him and continues to thrive in the modular industry today.
Since 1988 Ken Lambert Jr. branched out on his own to carry on providing services in the relocation, installation
and renovation of modular buildings. Today our main focus is in the Manufacturing of Modular Buildings as it was
in the early 1970's.
